Network of Water Rights Initiative [NEWARI], in partnership with Agua x Vida organized a sustainable #WASH Solutions Workshop for stakeholders in Nigeria #WASH sector. The workshop, which was held on 28th August 2024, was hosted by the Embassy of Argentina in Nigeria, and had in attendance, represenratives of the Federal Government, development partners, Civil Society Organizations and private corporations.
The workshop offered an opportunity for participants to share ideas and insights on sustainability of water supply interventions by government, development partners and NGOs across Nigeria.
The highlight of the workshop was the unveiling of Agua X Vida’s plans to expand its activities and commence operations in Nigeria.
Agua X Vida (H20 For Life) is an Argentinian-based non-profit organization created in 2009 that seeks to provide access to clean, safe and clean water to communities in Africa, by working together with the communities and empowering them through training and collective participation in the construction of water supply systems, which allows the sustainability of the project over time.
Agua X Vida has been operating in Guinea Bissau for over 10 years, where they have implemented innovative and sustainable solutions for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) challenges. With more than 100 projects developed, they have positively impacted the lives of over 30,000 people in Guinea Bissau. Agua x Vida is now scaling up its impacts across Africa by establishing in Nigeria, taking lessons from their decade of experience in Guinea Bissau, whilst also leveraging on the invaluable experience of its partner, Network of Water Rights Initiative [NEWARI] – a multiple award-winning #WASH Network in Nigeria.
